1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Sus ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree to these terms, you must immediately cease use of the Service.
2. Nature of Service — NOT a Consumer Reporting Agency
⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE
Sus is NOT a "consumer reporting agency" as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act ("FCRA"), 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. The Service does not provide "consumer reports" as defined by the FCRA. The additional protections afforded to consumers under the FCRA, and obligations placed upon consumer reporting agencies, are not contemplated by nor contained within these Terms.
Sus aggregates publicly available information from various sources for personal safety and awareness purposes only. The information provided through the Service should not be used as a substitute for your own due diligence, professional investigation, or official records verification.
3. Permitted Use
Sus is designed exclusively for personal safety purposes. You may use this Service to look up publicly available information about individuals you are considering meeting in person, such as dates, potential roommates, or personal acquaintances, for the sole purpose of protecting your personal safety.
4. Prohibited Uses — FCRA Compliance
🚫 YOU MAY NOT USE SUS FOR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES:
- Making decisions about employment, hiring, promotion, reassignment, or termination of any person, including current or potential employees, volunteers, contractors, or household workers;
- Making decisions about renting or selling a house, apartment, or other residential property to any person (tenant screening);
- Making decisions about lending money or extending credit to any person;
- Making decisions in connection with the underwriting of insurance;
- Making any eligibility determination about any person for any purpose;
- Any other purpose that would require FCRA compliance;
- Stalking, harassing, threatening, intimidating, or surveilling any person;
- Locating any person with intent to cause physical harm;
- Determining any person's exact home address or physical location;
- Any unlawful purpose or any purpose that violates local, state, or federal law.
Violation of these prohibited uses will result in immediate and permanent account termination, and may be reported to law enforcement where applicable.
5. Accuracy Disclaimer & Limitation of Data
NO WARRANTY OF ACCURACY
Information provided by Sus is sourced from publicly available databases and third-party data providers. We make no representation or warranty about the accuracy, completeness, currency, or reliability of any information provided through the Service.
- Criminal records displayed may belong to a different individual with a similar or identical name. Common names may produce results that are not associated with the person you searched for.
- Records may be outdated, incomplete, expunged, sealed, or incorrectly attributed.
- The absence of records in a report does NOT mean that a person has no criminal history.
- Geographic information is limited to city and state only. Exact addresses are not provided.
You should NOT rely on Sus for the accuracy or completeness of any information and should always verify information through official government sources and channels.
6. Data Limitations — No Address Disclosure
Sus intentionally limits the personal data displayed in reports. Specifically, the Service does NOT display, provide, or make available:
- Street addresses or specific residential locations
- Apartment or unit numbers
- ZIP codes or postal codes
- GPS coordinates or mapping data
- Workplace addresses or employer locations
Geographic data is limited to city and state for identity verification purposes only. This limitation is by design to protect the safety and privacy of all individuals.
7. Account Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service. You agree to provide accurate information during registration. All searches conducted through your account are logged for security and compliance purposes.
8. Payment & Refunds
Paid plans are billed in advance. Refunds may be issued at our discretion within 7 days of purchase if no reports have been generated. Subscription cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SUS AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:
- Your use of or inability to use the Service;
- Any inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information provided through the Service;
- Any decisions or actions taken by you or any third party based on information obtained through the Service;
- Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data;
- Any other matter relating to the Service.
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Sus and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party right, including privacy rights; or (d) any action taken by you or any third party using information obtained through the Service.
11. Prohibited Conduct
In addition to the prohibited uses listed in Section 4, you may not:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service;
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service;
- Share, resell, or redistribute any information obtained from the Service;
- Create derivative works based on the Service or its data;
- Conduct bulk lookups or use the Service for commercial data aggregation;
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or purpose;
- Circumvent any rate limits, access controls, or security features.
Violation of these terms will result in immediate account termination without refund.
12. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by JAMS in San Diego, California. You agree to waive any right to a jury trial or participation in a class action lawsuit.
13. Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
